Intellectual Property
We represent clients in patent, trademark, and trade secrets cases in state and federal courts and in arbitration forums. We have handled matters involving a wide variety of technologies and disciplines, including software, biotechnology, pharmaceuticals, consumer electronics, and forest products. In IP litigation, we work closely with our clients and other experts to distill key themes and to present complicated technical issues to judges, juries and arbitrators in an engaging, lucid and persuasive fashion.
For example, we represented Immunex in ZymoGenetics, Inc. v. Immunex Corporation, a biotechnology patent infringement case. The case involved the novel use of a neutral expert to provide the court with a tutorial on the biotechnology involved in the litigation. Other clients we have represented in IP matters include Weyerhaeuser Company, Life Technologies, Uwajimaya, and Barnes & Noble, Inc.
HCMP's Intellectual Property Litigation practice is also consistently ranked a top metropolitan Seattle practice by U.S. News-Best Lawyers® Best Law Firms.
