Professional Overview

Michael is an attorney in HCMP’s Litigation Group, focusing his practice on bankruptcy and insolvency matters. He represents a variety of sophisticated lenders, working to protect their security interests and maximize their returns, and guiding them through the post-petition financing process. Michael assists with debt collection and judgment enforcement proceedings, as well as the enforcement of guarantees and the prosecution of fraudulent transfer actions. He also helps his clients with non-judicial real property foreclosures and enforcement of their Article 9 security interests. Outside of the courtroom, Michael advises his clients on strategies for avoiding litigation, bankruptcy, and other prolonged debt-collection processes.

Clients appreciate Michael’s dedication to achieving excellent results efficiently through utilizing his extensive knowledge of the rules that govern bankruptcy and insolvency proceedings to formulate common-sense solutions.

Before joining the firm, Michael served as a judicial clerk in the U.S. Bankruptcy Court of the Western District of Washington.

Personal

Although Michael is a proud San Diego native, he has loved living in the Northwest for over a decade. In his free time, Michael loves exploring the outdoors with his two dogs, cooking antique family recipes, and reading for pleasure. Michael is also an avid runner and hopes to complete a marathon without walking or taking any breaks.
