HCMP provided legal counsel to the MEND Institute (formerly Seattle Therapy Alliance), related to basic entity formation, establishment of the business, corporate restructuring and organizational and general business services.

The MEND Institute was established to meet the need for affordable counseling for women while simultaneously providing advanced training for graduate counseling interns in psychotherapy and women's issues. In late 2018, the organization won a grand prize of $10,000 at the Business IMPACT Northwest's IMPACT Pitch competition, which provides the chance for idea-phase, startup, or existing businesses who have a positve impact on their community to win cash prizes totaling over $25,000.
