Abigail DeWeese and Michael Edwards have joined HCMP as associates in the firm's Real Estate & Land Use group and Business group, respectively.
Abbey's practice focuses on environmental, real estate, and land use law, assisting clients with a wide range of permitting, title, and zoning issues. Abbey received her J.D. from the University of Washington School of Law in 2014. She served as an extern to the Honorable James L. Robart, Federal District Court for the Western District of Washington; Executive Editor of Notes and Comments, Washington Journal of Environmental Law and Politics; and Co-Author, Washington Environmental Law Year in Review. Before attending law school she received a B.S., Public Health, B.A. with Distinction, Women Studies, from the University of Washington.
Abbey's community involvement includes service as Board Member and Board Secretary for All As One and Philanthropy and Marketing Advisor, Kappa Alpha Theta Sorority, Alpha Lambda Chapter.
Michael assists clients in transactional matters related to business, estate planning, and real estate. His work includes business entity formation, mergers and acquisitions, shareholder relations, and general business matters. Michael also received his J.D. this year from the UW School of Law, with honors. He served as Associate Editor-in-Chief, Washington Law Review; Co-President, Student Health Law Organization; Member, Jessup International Moot Court Team; and Vice President of Development, Moot Court Honor Board. Prior to law school he received a B.A. in Communications from Brigham Young University.
