HCMP Welcomes Highly-Regarded Creditors' Rights & Bankruptcy Attorneys

Brad Duncan and Josh Rataezyk, two highly-regarded creditors’ rights and bankruptcy attorneys, have joined Hillis Clark Martin & Peterson P.S.

Duncan has nearly 25 years’ experience in all phases of the insolvency process and has litigated matters around the country in a variety of bankruptcy and other courts. His clients have ranged from international technology, wireless and energy companies to national and regional lenders to a trustee in a large, multijurisdictional bankruptcy to midsize local businesses.

Duncan spent the last 10 years as a partner at Davis Wright Tremaine LLP, and, prior to that, was with Hunton & Williams in Washington, D.C. Duncan also served as general counsel for Etensity, Inc. He received his J.D. from Cornell Law School and B.A. from University of Puget Sound, summa cum laude.

Rataezyk’s practice emphasizes both bankruptcy and receiverships. He has extensive experience defending clients in bankruptcy avoidance actions and has represented numerous receivers and creditors in receivership actions throughout Washington State. As a former assistant general counsel at GE Capital Franchise Finance Corp., Rataezyk was primarily responsible for overseeing all bankruptcy, litigation, and restructurings for the company’s servicing and collection departments.

Following his tenure at GE Capital, Rataezyk was a partner with Davis Wright Tremaine LLP. He received his J.D. from Gonzaga University School of Law, cum laude, and his B.A. from Yale University.

Said Gary Fallon, HCMP Managing Principal, “We are thrilled that Brad and Josh have joined our Lender Services & Finance group, and in particular the insolvency team. The team has a solid track record of handling complex insolvency matters, and Brad and Josh increase its depth and add a broad range of experience that will enhance our ability to serve our clients.”
