Hillis Clark Martin & Peterson P.S. has announced that real estate and land use attorneys Holly Golden, Kurt Kruckeberg and Andy Rigel have been appointed Principals of the firm.

Holly Golden’s practice focuses on land use and environmental law, with an emphasis on urban land development and permitting. Her service on local boards and commissions, experience navigating complex regulatory systems, and appearances in court and before the Seattle Hearing Examiner on behalf of clients have empowered her to develop and execute strategies to successfully assist clients in reaching their goals.
Holly currently serves on the Seattle Center Advisory Commission and is a board member for Environmental Works. She received her J.D. from the University of Washington School of Law, with honors, and her B.A. in English and Political Science from the University of Washington, magna cum laude and with honors.
Kurt Kruckeberg represents clients in a variety of real estate matters ranging from acquisitions and sales of real property to commercial lease agreements and construction and permanent financing. He has experience working on a range of office, multifamily, industrial, and retail projects, and he has documented complicated real estate transactions for clients in the education, healthcare, and life-sciences industries. He also assists clients with structuring joint ventures for the ownership and development of real estate projects.
Kurt received his J.D. from the Seattle University School of Law, summa cum laude; his M.M. in Voice Performance and Vocal Pedagogy from the University of Colorado-Boulder; and his B.A. in Music and Sociology from Luther College, magna cum laude. He currently serves as an adjunct faculty member of the University of Washington School of Law, where he teaches Civil Procedure, as well as on the Board of Directors for Pacific MusicWorks.
Andy Rigel’s practice focuses on counseling clients regarding the risks and opportunities of buying, selling, and redeveloping contaminated property. He regularly advises clients on regulatory compliance and litigation of cost recovery and contribution actions under the Washington Model Toxics Control Act (MTCA) and the Comprehensive Environmental Response, Compensation, and Liability Act (CERCLA). Andy has also successfully managed the environmental remediation and regulatory closure of several complex contaminated sites.
Andy’s environmental experience also regularly intersects with other areas of real estate, land use, and construction law. He has worked on matters involving environmental insurance claims, storm water disputes and permit issues, project strategy under the National and State Environmental Policy Acts, wetland issues, development code compliance, condemnation actions, and the Endangered Species Act.
Andy received his J.D., magna cum laude, from Tulane Law School and B.A. in Environmental Geology from Miami University. Andy serves as President of the Board of Directors for the Evergreen Mountain Bike Alliance and as a board member for Kids Need Bikes.
