Hillis Clark Martin & Peterson P.S. has announced that litigator Jake Ewart has been promoted to Principal of the firm, and that Marcus Peterson has been promoted to Firm Administrator, replacing Mike Cafferty who has retired after nearly 36 years in the position.
Jake is a trial and appellate litigator for public, private, and nonprofit clients. His practice focuses on complex litigation involving a wide variety of subject matters, including securities, antitrust, intellectual property, municipal law, employment, commercial contracts, construction, and federal and state constitutional law. Jake has successfully represented clients at all levels of state court, in federal court, and in arbitration and mediation proceedings. In addition to his legal practice, Jake is passionate about community involvement, and serves on the boards of Lifelong AIDS Alliance and Schools First.
Marcus has been with HCMP for 19 years, and for the past 15 years has served as the firm’s Accounting Manager. In his new role as Firm Administrator, Marcus manages the firm’s business and day-to-day administrative operations. He will also work closely with the firm’s management committee in the ongoing development and implementation of strategic plans, business goals, and administrative policies.
