HCMP attorney Brian Free has been named Board President of CENTS (Consumer Education and Training Services). CENTS is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit co-founded in 1995 by Federal Bankruptcy Judge Karen A. Overstreet and leading members of the Washington Bankruptcy Bar.
CENTS has created programs with the support of the King County Bar Association, the Washington Attorney Generals’ Office, the Washington State Department of Financial Institutions, the Seattle Foundation, the Consumer Protection and Education Fund, and the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center.
Brian has served on the CENTS Board for several years, and as President will serve as the primary liaison between the Board and the CENTS Executive Director, submitting plans and budgets for Board approval, and presiding over Board meetings.
Brian’s practice at HCMP focuses on commercial litigation, with an emphasis on representation of financial institutions, securities firms, and commercial landlords. He has extensive experience with all aspects of bankruptcy, receiverships, insolvency, restructuring, and debtor-creditor work. Brian has also served as an adjunct professor at Seattle University teaching the Bankruptcy course.
