HCMP attorneys have tracked the Housing Affordability and Livability Agenda (HALA) closely for the past two years. The latest news is that the City of Seattle has released a draft Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) for potential zoning changes to implement the City’s Mandatory Housing Affordability (MHA) program on a citywide basis. You can view the EIS and appendices on the City’s MHA program website here. The City is accepting public comments on the EIS until July 23, 2017.
HCMP’s Real Estate and Land Use attorneys are intimately familiar with the City’s MHA program, the contents of the draft EIS, and the political climate around affordable housing issues in the City. Please contact Abbey DeWeese if you would like to talk to one of our attorneys about how the MHA program and its implementation could impact your property or development plans.
