On April 27, 2023, the City of Bellevue published the Draft Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) for its Comprehensive Plan Update and Wilburton Vision Implementation. The Draft EIS studies three potential growth alternatives for the City to accommodate its growth targets of 70,000 new jobs and 35,000 new housing units over the next 20 years. The growth alternatives identify capacity well above those targets. The Draft EIS sets the stage for major zoning changes in the City’s Wilburton neighborhood, the long-awaited Bel-Red “Look Forward,” and anticipated changes in mixed-use areas across the City.
After reviewing public comments submitted on the Draft EIS and updating the analysis, the City will publish a Final EIS later this summer, and the Comprehensive Plan and zoning changes will follow in 2024 and beyond.
Public comments on the Draft EIS will be accepted until June 12, 2023. Our team is ready to help you understand the implications of this process on your property and acquisitions pursuits, and draft relevant comments that could help shape the direction of growth in Bellevue.
